Which Fruits Should Be Avoided by Polycystic Kidney Patients

We all know that the polycystic kidney patients have pretty much diet taboo, but do you know which fruit should the patients avoid? Polycystic kidney is caused by the damage of kidney function, the patients kidney is weak from a long illness, once they eat the fruit harmful to the kidney, their condition may worsen relatively.


1. Pineapple
There's a lot of bromelain in pineapple peel, which can dissolve the fibrin in patient's body, it is bad for the patients’ recovery, so the patient should eat less or don't eat the pineapple.
2. Banana
Polycystic kidney patients can suffer from edema easily, so they should limit the intake of salt strictly. Banana contains much sodium salt, which may bring burden to patients’fragile kidney.
3. Orange
Orange is rich in vitamin C, which can easily react with calcium ions in the human body, the reaction will produce stones to deteriorate the condition of polycystic kidney patients.
4. Plum
If anabrosis happen on patients’ stomach, acidic fruits such as plum should be avoid, or the anabrosis will be aggravated.
5. Watermelon
Polycystic kidney patient are often associated with edema, so they are limited in the water intake, watermelon contains lots of water, which may aggravate the edema condition of patients.

Besides, polycystic kidney patients should limit the intake of apricot, haw, pomegranate, pawpaw, etc. to avoid side effect of disease.
