Kidney transplant is the the last resort to deal with severe kidney disease.
However, not all of the patients are suitable for the transplantation, the
unsuitable people are as follows:
1. Patients with cardiovascular disease
The patients with uremia are usually associated with cardiovascular disease,
after being treated with continuous renal replacement treatment, their symptoms
such as high blood pressure, cardiac failure and cardiovascular complication can
be controlled. But there are about 5% of patients on dialysis can not recover
from high blood pressure, when they have to receive kidney transplantation, the
diseased kidney should be removed before the transplant.
2. Patients with peptic ulcer
After kidney transplant, the patients should take a mass of glucocorticoid
and large dose of immunosuppressant, these medicine can lead to peptic ulcer, so
that the patients should take gastrointestinal examination before
transplant.
3. Patients with infection
The patients with infections can not receive kidney transplant. Respiratory
tract, urinary tract, arterio-venous fistula can easily get bacterial infection.
Besides, before transplant, the patients should cure the infections caused by
cytomegalovirus including otitis media, decayed tooth, amygdalitis,
nasosinusitis, etc.
4. Patients with hepatitis
Patients with active hepatitis are not appropriate to kidney transplant, the
long-term use of immunosuppressant can improve the duplication of Hepatitis B
Virus, aggravate liver damage.
5. Urinary tract dysfunction
Urinary obstruction and urination difficulty due to urethrostenosis,
contracted bladder and neurogenic bladder can affect the recovering of renal
function after renal transplantation.
